Local Government & Equal Opportunities

Jackie Bailey, Maria Noble and Sonia Stewart were interviewed for the Women Of The Soil project with a focus on Local Government, Equal Opportunities in addition to general questions including about their community activism, achievements and the legacy of Louise Da-Cocodia.

Jackie Bailey

Jackie is the Director of J. Bailey Consulting  Ltd (JBCL).  She is also co-ordinate the work of Sistas Gal (Getting Active  with Literature) reading and social group for Black women.

 

Maria Noble

Maria Noble describes herself as a Black, lesbian, feminist, socialist and disabled woman.  She is one of the founding members of Abasindi Black Women’s Co-op.

 

Sonia Stewart

Sonia Stewart is the Branch Equality Officer for Manchester UNISON and Chair of the Jamaica Society (Manchester).
